Hallenbeck won a featherweight semi-final bout from Gordon Stuarn(?) early in the evening and went against Kenneth U'Ren in the finals in the next to the last bout on the program.

Before the round was well under way, U'Ren landed two blows to Hallenbeck's head and Referee Jack Nugent stopped the bout. Hallenbeck retired to a dressing room, apparently well. He later complained of nausea and was ordered to a local hospital.
