Hollier Services Set for Wednesday
CROWLEY. La. — Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Jerusalem Baptist Church for Edward Hollier, Jr., 62, retired carpenter, who died Sunday at his residence following a short illness. Burial will follow in the West Crow ley Protestant Cemetery with services being conducted by Rev. John Wilkerson.
Pallbearers will be Edward Hollier III, Cleveland Batiste, Clarence Thomas, Johnny Lee Robinson, Cophus Hollier, Sr., Jewel Johnson, and Tie Martin. Empire Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hollier was born Aug. 4, 1901 in Opelousas and had been a lifelong resident of Crowley. He is survived by his wife, Esther Hollier. Crowley; four sons, Edward Hollier III, Crowley, Ed. Hollier, Oakland, Calif., Eric Hollier, Los Angeles, and Herman Hollier, San Francisco; three daughters, Gloria Mae Hollier and Mrs. Esther Lee Trahan. Crowley, and Josey Mae Forrest. Los Angeles; two brothers, Willie Hollier, Port Arthur, Texas, and Cophus Hollier, Sr., of Beaumont; two sisters. Mrs. Bessie M. Peterson and Mrs. Margaret Hollier. both of Crowley; and 24 grandchildren.
