Vera Elizabeth NeSmith Hill, 95, of Hatton passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at her residence. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Sam Wallace, officiating. Burial will be in Fergason Cemetery.
She was born October 4, 1926 to the late Earl and Annie Counts NeSmith. Vera was one of the five remaining members of the Hatton graduating class of 1944. She graduated from Florence State Teachers College in 1947 with a B.S. in education. Vera taught at Speake High School until retirement. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she loved her flowers. Vera was a member of Okolona Baptist Church in Hatton.
Survivors include her children, Sharon Hood, Edward Hill (JoAnn) and Sandra Treadway, four grandchildren, Alan Hill (Kelly), Michael Hill (Brittany), Matthew Treadway (Tara) and Caleb Treadway, six great grandchildren, Kayla Hood, Kain Hood, Jolea Hill, Hunter Hill, Rhett Hill and Aidan Treadway.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, and her grandson, Jason Hood.
Pallbearers will be Alan Hill, Michael Hill, Matthew Treadway, Caleb Treadway, David Lowery and Paul Crowe.
