Thomas R. Howard of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the age of 70. He was born January 5, 1951 in South Bend to Alonzo and Martha (Floor) Howard, who preceded him in death. Thomas took over his father's restaurant business, renaming it Thom's City BBQ, which he owned and operated for many years.
A Veteran of the United States Army, Thomas served our country with pride from 1971 to 1977. He was known for his avid support of Notre Dame football and hoped to see them win the Championship this year; he also enjoyed fishing, loved his dogs and of course, his family.
On November 21, 1992 in South Bend he was united in marriage to Sharon Tesmer who survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Tracy Huys of Cocoa Beach, FL and son, Thomas Howard, Jr. of South Bend, IN along with his six grandchildren, Jennifer, Corey, Kevin, Haven, Joey, Adam and four great-grandchildren. Stepdaughters, Tina Ewing and Tonya McCauley preceded Thomas in death.
