She was a graduate of Shasta High School and worked several years as a nurse's aide. She was a Christian and was a member of Calvary Christian Center in Sacramento, California. Her zest for life and adventure led her to move to Arkadelphia. She and her daughter Ruby, would at times worship at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church and Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Rose loved hosting yard sales and going to yard sales. Her greatest treasures were jewelry. Over the years she had accumulated a vast collection of earrings, hairpins, broaches, bracelets, and necklaces. She enjoyed contemporary gospel music and her favorite song was "Stomp" by Kirk Franklin.
With a youthful spirit, she nurtured and cared for her grandchildren. She never met a stranger and always greeted others with a smile. Rose passed from this life on October 27, 2021, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She leaves fond memories in the heart of her children: Jessie Fowler, Frank Fowler, and Sherleigh Fowler all of Oklahoma City, OK and Ruby Rose Bennett of Arkadelphia, AR; five grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Simmons of Sacramento, CA and Angelina Simmons of Arkadelphia, AR; brothers, Pierre Simmons of Redding, CA, Joseph Simmons and Anderson Simmons all pf Redding, CA
