Christopher "Chris" Joe Smith was born in Tucson, Arizona on October 21, 1955, and returned to our Lord on November 6, 2021.

Chris' love of life and family knew no bounds. He was newly retired from the HVAC industry, but Chris' passion was always to be the family's rock as a caring husband, the best dad and later a very active "Pa". The love Chris had for his family was always clear as he ended every goodbye with the words "I love you." He never met a stranger and always saw the good in every person with whom he came into contact. He always had a smile on his face and opened his heart and home to all without hesitation. The simplest joys in life brought Chris happiness and he knew that the true joys in life came from the people who you shared moments with and not what was being done in the moment. He enjoyed traveling, boating, fishing and being with his family. He was as selfless as a man can be and found joy in giving to and helping others more than anything. It is often said from strangers that Chris made a lasting impression on them by taking the time to get to know them and caring about them personally. If someone ever needed help fixing a problem, he was there to help or more likely coach. If you ever wanted to go fishing or just wanted company, Chris' door was open. His life was one lived fully and with a pure heart of gold.

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; his children, Adam Jay Smith (Kelly), Andrew "Andy" Joe Smith, and Serita Hope Smith (Keith). He had one grandson Brady Christopher Smith. He is also survived by his brother Jerry. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jay Smith and Judy Johnson.

A visitation will be held from 5-8pm with a Rosary beginning at 6:30pm on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Dr., Spring, TX 77379.

A funeral mass for Chris will be held at 11am on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Dr, Spring, TX 77379. An escorted procession to Forest Park – The

Woodlands for a graveside committal service immediately following the mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to The American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association to help others as Chris would want you to do.
