He was born December 24, 1931 in Greene County to Wesley Henry Perry and Grace May (Zimmerman) Perry.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth Perry of Jasonville, whom he married on July 28, 1953; children, Jim Perry of Ellettsville and Gail Ann Ray of Port Orange, Fla.; grandchildren, Matt Ray (Tiffany), Jonathan Ray (Kasey), Kelly Pitts (Kenneth), Mark Perry and Josh Perry; great-grandchildren, Ariana, Aubriella, Jordan and Kloee; sisters, Wanda Duncan of Avon and Jeanne Thomas of Franklin and some nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Lee Perry; brothers, Charles Perry and Clifford Zimmerman; sisters, Betty Wilson and Madeline Marshal and granddaughter, Jaimie (Perry) Spring.
Don worked as a welder for Westinghouse. He was a member of the Jasonville Assembly of God Church, and Cole City American Legion Post 141. Don enjoyed working with his hands doing woodworking, as a locksmith and just tinkering, taking things apart and repairing them and putting them back together.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at the funeral home. Services are immediately following at 1 p.m. with Chaplain Curtis Mitchell officiating.
Interment will be at Worthington Cemetery in Worthington with Military Graveside Rites.
