Her battle with Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer has come to an end. She fought to the very end to be with us. The courage she showed, the love she gave us, and her ability to make us smile until the end has made this journey bearable.
Jennifer, or more commonly known as Jenny, was an only child born and raised in Prince William County. She attended Pattie Elementary, Graham Park Middle, and Forest Park High School. She was shy and kept a small friend group, but despite her introverted nature, she participated in several sports including gymnastics, cheer, ice skating, and softball. In high school, Jenny loved cars, which ultimately led her to meet Xavier. He quickly became her whole world and they got married
Over the past 15 years, they traveled and had countless adventures with their two kids, Lauren and Xavier, and built a life surrounded by loving family and friends. She went from being an introvert who avoided large gatherings, to a hostess with the mostest. Jenny loved throwing parties for her family and her tres leches cake was always a big hit.
If there were only three words to describe Jenny, they would be honest, loyal, and hilarious. If you needed to know the cold hard truth (even when you didn't know you needed to), you'd go to Jenny. If there ever was a loyal mom, wife, sister, or friend, it was Jenny. She stood fiercely by those she loved. She always had the funniest one-liners to drop when you least expected it and cracked everyone up. To know Jenny was to love Jenny.
For the past two and a half years, Jenny became the definition of bravery. Throughout her journey with Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer, her strength never wavered and her light never dimmed. She loved hard and she loved big. We will always be grateful to have had her in our lives. Although we are all truly heartbroken that she is no longer here with us, we can be at peace knowing that she is no longer suffering.
Jenny is survived by her husband, Xavier, two children, Lauren and Xavier, mother, Sandra Stone, father- and mother-in-law, Miguel and Fabiola Salazar, four siblings by marriage, Kathy Canales, German Osorio, Luis Salazar, and Lesly Salazar, their spouses, and 9 nieces and nephews.
There are so many things I want to say and share but I don't think this is the right platform for that. Thank you to all those that have provided prayer, support and have been here through any part of this fight.
To my wife, Jenny:
I love you, and I miss you so much. This is unreal but you have given me strength by being a perfect example on how to be strong. Thank you for all you have done for our kids and I. I will continue to love them as you have and I will keep your request for me as I start a journey without you physically here, but still in my heart and mind. I will forever hold you in my heart and know you love me back.
