Ray Allen Moore, 60, of Morganton, NC passed away Monday, June 10, 2019. He was born on December 19, 1958 in Prince William County, Virginia to the late Jerry Allen Moore and Shirley Rowe Waycaster. He was a well-beloved member of North Morganton United Methodist Church. Ray retired from Sara Lee Textiles and worked in the bakery in Valdese. He had also worked at Shufford Mills. Ray was a part of the Kaw Nation in the Osage tribe. His heritage made him truly connected to nature and he loved to fish and travel. He enjoyed learning new skills and always bettered himself. He cared for his daughters and loved his sisters. His home was always and will be the Blue Ridge Mountains.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Terry Kay Bowman Moore and brother, Charles Allen Moore.
Ray is survived by his daughters and grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am, June 14, 2019 at North Morganton United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Ray's Life will follow at 11:00 in the church with Rev. Burt Williams officiating.
