Carol Wright Lewis, age 75, of Archer City, Texas passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the First Christian Church of Archer City with Bobby Dean, Pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Carol was born August 11, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Marion Hooper Wright and Dorothy Jane Sheets Wright.
In 1964, she graduated from Archer City High School. She was employed as a key punch operator for White's Auto Store.
Carol married Phil Lewis on July 1, 1967 in Archer City. They moved to Mississippi where she was a homemaker until her children were born. She then worked as a bookkeeper at Sharkey Issaquena Academy.
After the death of her husband on December 12, 1998, Carol returned to Archer City to be close to her family. She was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield in Wichita Falls. Later she worked for State National Bank and finally was employed by the City of Archer City until her retirement in 2014.
Carol was a member of the First Christian Church of Archer City.
Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia Cooper of Chatham, Mississippi, Renee Owen of Holliday, and Ashley Buckmore and husband, Craig of Belton, Texas; one brother John Wright and wife, Cathy of Graham; four grandchildren, Cheyenne Molett, Chance Cooper, Parker Owen, and Addison Buckmore; two great-grandsons, Bradley and Zachary Gosvener; her nieces and nephews; and many friends.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jane Ham on October 7, 2013.
