Gloria C. (Mueller) Johnson, 95, formerly of Dighton, passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 5, 2021 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. She was the wife of 57 years of the late Dr. Walter M. Johnson.

Gloria was born on December 7, 1925 in Buffalo, New York, during a two-foot snowstorm, before the doctor arrived. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Henrietta (Oswald) Mueller. Gloria was a good student, attended a boarding school in Union Springs, New York, and college in South Lancaster, MA.

Gloria was a graduate of New England Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at the Worcester Memorial Hospital and later in her husband's medical office in Taunton. She also worked as a nurse in California while her husband was a surgeon in the United States Navy.

She was a member of the Loma Linda Medical School Board of Councilors and the Dighton Council on Aging. She was a member of the Taunton Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she taught in the children's department for 18 years. She was the Church Treasurer for 27 years. She looked forward to the second coming of Jesus, "where the best is yet to come".

She is survived by three sons, Dr. Mark Johnson and his wife Linda of Boxford, Dr. Paul Johnson and his wife Mindy of Noblesville, Indiana and Thomas Johnson and his wife Vicki of Berkley, MA; Gloria was blessed with her six grandchildren, Jeremy, Michael, Matthew, Daniel, Katherine and Morgan; she was also blessed with three great grandchildren, Paige, Brynn and Cole.

In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated and buried next to her late husband, Walter Johnson, MD. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 1-2pm with a service at 2pm in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. Taunton.
