Obituary
Michael "Mike" Arthur Stephens of Lexington, SC, was received into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on November 9, 2021. He was 72 years old. He was born January 19, 1949 in San Antonio, TX to the late Arnett and Elsie Maxine Stephens.
Mike graduated from A. C. Flora High School in 1967. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1975 with a degree in Computer Science. Mike served in the United States Air Force as well as the SC Air National Guard, attached to McEntire Airforce Base. He served in Desert Storm. Mike utilized his degree in computer science for a career in data processing. He loved his church, Mt. Horeb UMC in Lexington, SC. He enjoyed playing his tuba in the church orchestra. He also served his community. Mike was a mentor in Lexington School District One and at DJJ, Columbia, SC. He loved his family deeply. His granddaughters were his greatest joy and blessing.
Mike is survived by his wife of 52 years, Faye Jones Stephens; his daughter, Angie (Steven) Seshun; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Stephens; his brothers, Van Higgins Stephens, James Arnett Stephens; sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Jones, Shirley Harmon; his brother-in-law, Randy Jones; his grandchildren, Annika Seshun, Harper Stephens, Finley Stephens; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tyler Michael Stephens.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Mt. Horeb UMC, 1205 Old Cherokee Rd, Lexington, SC 29072 from 1:00-2:00PM. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00PM.
