Rhea Louise Bretthauer Blanchard Manlove passed away peacefully with her beloved husband at her side on July 30, 2017 at the age of 85.

She was born the third daughter to Leora and Reio "Brett" Bretthauer in Whitefish, MT on July 23, 1932.

Rhea will be sadly missed by her husband, Spencer Manlove, her son, Jeremy (Francie) Blanchard, her granddaughters, Emily and Abigail Blanchard, her daughter Leora (George) Bell and her grandson Lachlan (April) Bell.

She is predeceased by her parents, both her sisters Mary Jane Street and Dorothy Jenson, and her grandson Reio Bell.

She attended Whitefish public school and graduated high school in 1950. She then moved to Minneapolis MN to marry Harold Blanchard. They had two children, a daughter, Leora in 1957 and a son, Jeremy, in 1964. She and Harold divorced in 1976. Rhea married Spencer Manlove in 2006 and travelled the world with him. "It was the best part of her life." She said, being married to Spencer.

She was always at home in an academic setting. In Eureka, she was the assistant librarian at the grade school. After moving to Missoula, she worked in the psychology department of the university and then moved to the art department. There she stayed until her retirement. She loved the campus, working with the students and especially being a part of the arts community.

Rhea was an avid bridge player. It was a hobby she pursued all her life. Bridge was one thing that she and Spencer enjoyed as well, playing with several bridge clubs. Rhea was an active volunteer in her church, the university and the community. In later years, she joined PEO and was quite active in that as well.
