Clyde Everette Smith, age 89, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 at his home.

Everette was born October 25, 1932 in North Carolina to the late Clyde Baxter Smith and the late Etta Little Smith.

Everette is survived by his wife, Shigako; his sisters, Laura Hartsell of Concord NC, Owonna Clayton of Weddington NC, Carolyn Kimrey (Drag) of Laurinburg NC, Sharon Caudle (Ray) of Pawleys Island SC; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Mildred Whitley of Statesville, NC.

Everette was a member of Canton Baptist Church of Endy.

In 1974, Everette retired from the United States Air Force, where he worked in the Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory and achieved the rank of Master Sergeant.

The funeral service will be on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 10:30am at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Gary Hunsucker. Burial will follow at the Salisbury National Cemetery at 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County and the Uwharrie, 960 North 1st Street, Albemarle, NC 28001
