Larry passed into the arms of our Lord on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the age of 82 due to COVID-19.

Preceded in death by his son Michael Schmidt, parents Gust and Marie Schmidt, sister Marion Owen and Brother Ed Zinda.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Joan, loving and caring daughters Julie Lalor, and Karen (Joe) Koester, and devoted companion dog Lucy. Much loved Grandpa to Kamryn (Clayton) Coffin, Zachary (Jennifer) Lalor, Matthew (Kayla) Lalor, Evan Lalor, Kennedy Koester, Jordan Koester, and Rylie Salyers. Proud "Papa" to William Coffin and Norah Lalor. He was the "Best" Uncle Larry to many nephews and nieces. Further survived by two sisters Millie Mueller and Dolores Von Bank and many family and friends.

Larry served his country in the Army National Guard and was a longtime member of the St. Francis Jaycees.

He was a loyal and devoted fan of the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and Bucks.

Per Larry's wishes there will be no formal funeral service. A private committal service has been planned as well as a Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM at Schramka Borgwardt Funeral Home 11030 W Forest Home Ave. Hales Corners, WI 53130.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family or Wounded Warrior Project ©.
