Billy Gerald, 80 and Joyce Inez Gibson 78, of Iowa Park passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in Wichita Falls.
Billy was born on July 20, 1941 to the late Ermin William (Bill) and Mary Helen (Lawrence) Gibson in Vernon, Texas.
Joyce Inez Gibson was born on March 25, 1943 to the late Robert Lee and Ada Joy (Russell) Blackwood in Vernon.
The couple were members of Assembly of God in Vernon, Texas. In April, the couple celebrated 60 years of marriage. Billy loved the mountains of North Carolina and watching all sports, while Joyce loved the ocean off of Florida. Both of them enjoyed spending time with the children, family and their fur babies. Joyce would always look for the good in people and would help anyone in need. She loved with all her heart and strength. The couple will truly be missed by many family and friends.
Billy and Joyce were preceded in death by their parents; a daughter, Debra Diane Gibson; nephew, Steven Gibson; and Billy's sister, Linda Joyce Roper.
They are survived by his children: Rhonda Kennedy and husband, Mark of Loganville, Georgia, Rhoda Cobb and husband, Louis of Archer City, Texas, Vikki Veitenheimer and husband, Rocky of Lake Kickapoo, Texas, Billy Gibson Jr. and wife, Lana of Henrietta, Texas and Richard Fountain and wife, Brandie of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren: Lee Barrett Bleeker, Misti Bellar, Sierra Roddy, Kristin Brumbelow, Michael Schreiber, Holly Gibson, Jessica Riddle and Kristen Riddle; six great-grandchildren: Tristin, Jacie, Brison, Weston, Maverick Schreiber and Dakota Schreiber; Billy's brother, Marvin Lee Gibson and wife, Debbie of Houston, Texas; and Joyce's family members, Louella Blackwood, Bobby Hughes and Aunt Mary Helms.
