Eleanor Smith was born Eleanor Marion Koch the 28th of September 1918 in Cascade county, Montana to Caroline and Joseph Koch. She eventually left the ranch to work for the war department in D.C. and New Jersey until WWII ended. She left her position as she had vowed, to make room for our boys returning home from the war. She then took a job in Fort Worth, Texas to work for Lockheed Martin, which at the time was Convair as time keeper. It was there that she met her husband to be who had just returned home from the war. She married Gilbert Benjamin Smith Jr. in December of 1948 and settled in Kennedale, Texas. Eleanor was a hard working and loving wife, mother and friend who always put others before herself. When her daughters were old enough, Eleanor re-entered the working world. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert B. Smith Jr., her parents, Joseph and Caroline Koch, brothers and sisters; Caroline Strunk, Joseph Koch, Eugene Koch, Walter Koch, Richard Koch, Marcy Duffy, Ethy Duffy and Gilbert Koch. She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Toothaker and husband David, Patricia Stancoff and husband George Turner, Teresa Martin and husband Richard Schlesinger Jr., three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
