Funeral Services for Mrs. Jeanette Elliott Carroll, age 76, of Ashland will be Friday, November 5, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Pastor Danny Sweet and Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Burial will follow at Clay County Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Jeanette Elliott Carroll passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Carroll was born on May 13, 1945 in the Almond community in Randolph County. She graduated from Wadley High School in 1962.
She began her banking career at City Bank in Lineville. She began working at First National Bank of Ashland in 1974, retiring from RBC in 2009. She was a dedicated community member serving through many organizations including the Clay County Chamber of Commerce, Clay County Education Foundation and Clay County Kiwanis. She was very active in volunteer activities at Clay County Christian Academy.
Her many hobbies included cooking, sewing, gardening, and camping. Although she enjoyed traveling to new destinations, trips to the mountains and the beach with the kids were always a favorite. Spending time with her grandchildren was, of all activities, her most treasured.
She is survived by her husband, Perry Carroll of Ashland; children, Donna Barrett(Randy) of Cragford, Brooke Spurlin(Jason) of Abel, Dawn Carroll of New Orleans, LA, and Jason Carroll of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Kaitlin Barrett, Jake Barrett, Canaan Spurlin, Drake Spurlin, Hannah Spurlin, Destyni Flornoy, Luke Carroll, Jacon Boos, Luke Carroll, and Rachel Carroll; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, James Raymond Elliott(Betty) of Alabaster, Charles Roy Elliott(Deborah) of Birmingham and Lewis Elliott of Anniston; several nieces and nephews and lots of extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Walter Lewis Elliott and Ruby Kate Hodnett Elliott.
Pallbearers will be Jake Barrett, Drake Spurlin, Randy Barrett, Jason Spurlin, Elliott Cotney, Richard Cotney and Johnny Johnson.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 5:00 until 8:00 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland.
