Wm. Clark died at his home in Louisville, Saturday night, November 7, 1896. He had been in feeble health for several years. It was thought last spring that he would not rally from a severe attack but he improved to such an extent that he was able to go about the streets and attend to some business. For some weeks, he has been gradually growing weaker and his death, though a severe shock to his many friends, was no surprise. The funeral services were held at the M.E. church, Monday, at 2 p.m. and was attended by a large number of people, including the citizens of Louisville generally and many from Wamego and five or six from Westmoreland. The ritualistic services of the I.O.O.F. He was assisted by Rev. W.D. Hamilton, of Louisville, and Rev. I. Coffey, of Wamego, and Rev. J. W. Megan, of Westmoreland. The remains were interred in the Louisville cemetery. The decreased was one of the earliest citizens of the county and is well known, particularly to all early settlers. He leaves a wife and a large family of grown children to mourn his departure. The following information was sent me, I was asked to add it. Thankyou

William Clark married (1) Mary Ann Churchman. They had three children: George W, Sarah "Sadie", and Flora Jane. William married (2) Licinda A Gann. They had six children: Ida, Anna May, Nellie Catherine, Rosa Belle, Jessie J, and Cora Pearl.
