Frances was born in Elizabethton to the late Clayton C. Grindstaff and Dora Mae Stout Grindstaff. In addition to her parents, Frances was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Elaine Ihlenfeld; a sister, Jettie Grindstaff; and a special friend, Fane Bowers.
Frances had worked first for American Air Filter as a shipping clerk and then worked at Walmart as a sales associate. She was a devout Christian and was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Bernie Taylor and wife Valerie of Johnson City; two grandchildren, Mark Taylor and wife Elizabeth of Kingsport and Laura Ferguson and husband Joey of St. Petersburg, Florida; and one great grandchild, James Luke Ferguson of St. Petersburg, Florida.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home Elizabethton.
A graveside service to honor the life of Frances Grindstaff Taylor will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 11, 2021 in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery with Pastor Nate Varnier officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Grindstaff, Laura Ferguson, Mark Taylor and James Luke Ferguson. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 AM.
The family would like to especially thank Frances's niece, Margie Roberts who helped care for Frances during her illness.
