Jessie Maye (Swinford) Nail Jackson was born to William and Holland Jane (McArty) Swinford on November 8, 1927 and departed this life in Harlingen, TX on November 4, 2021 at the age of 93 years, 11 months and 27 days.

Jessie was the second born of the first set of triplets ever born in Cotton County and the last one of the Swinford family legacy. She grew up east of Walters, OK in the Valley View Community. She attended Walters Public Schools, was the 8th Grade Valedictorian and graduated from Walters High School in 1946.

Jessie married Charles Burt Nail, April 5, 1949, making their home in Walters. They had 2 sons, Phillip Charles and Roger Lynn. Her 2nd marriage was to John Cranor Jackson on September 7, 1983. She worked at Southwestern Bell in Walters for 13 years. She then moved to Electra Texas, working at Texas Electric Service Company for 5 years and then on to Richardson, TX where she was employed at J.C. Penny for 13 years. Jessie also made her home in several other Texas towns such as Livingston, Burkburnett and more recently Valley View until moving to Harlingen to be near her son at the end of October.

Jessie loved all her family. She was an avid reader and loved an assortment of books. She enjoyed playing scrabble and solitaire. She traveled the U.S.A and loved to line dance and waltz. Her hobby was collecting figurines of M&Ms, clowns and miniature shoes.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Burt Nail; her son, Roger Nail; her second husband, John Cranor Jackson; her step-son, Warren Jackson; her mother and father; 3 brothers, William Travis "Buster" Swinford, Ralph Jackson Swinford and triplet, Johnnie Ray Swinford; and 6 sisters, Cordelia Coy, Sadie Sipes, Claudie Mae Robbins, Louise Guthrie, Nellie June Foster and triplet, Essie Faye Baldas.

Survivors include her son, Phillip Charles Nail and wife, Patricia of Harlingen, TX; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Gillard of Wills Point, TX, Andrea Michelle Loper of Forney, TX, Michael Charles Nail of Hawkins, TX, Samantha Lynn LaHue of Keller, TX, Ashley Simone of Manhattan, NY, and James Mathew Nail of Austin, TX; her great grandchildren, Megan Marie Gillard, Alyssa Paige Gillard, Brittany Michelle Harris, and Kaden Ky LaHue; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
