Onaway - Judith "Judy" Ann Decker of Onaway was called home to be with our Lord on November 5th, 2021 at her residence. Judy was born in Onaway to the late Orphia (Dunn) Cradit and father, John King. She met the love of her life in middle school, Robert Allen Decker, and they married on January 3rd, 1959. Together they raised three children, Mary Jo, Michael and Michele. Judy walked alongside her husband Bob for 37 years operating the family business. Opening Ace Hardware in 1970 in Cheboygan, they walked side by side until retiring in 2004.
More than anything in the world, her greatest joy was her family. She loved the holidays and made the most amazing meals. She was always there for her children and grandchildren whenever needed. She was known to always be our number one fan. Judy will always be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her siblings: Carla King, Sharon Williams, John "Jack" King, and Victor King; brother-in-law's, Charles Decker, Gary Decker and Roy Decker; her best friend, Geri McGinn; and step-father, Harold Cradit. Left to cherish her memory: her husband of 62 years, Robert Allen Decker; children Mary Jo and her husband, Darl Taylor, Michael and wife, Karen Decker, Michele and husband, Victor Enos, foreign exchange son, Luis and wife, Sandra Solano; sister's: Darlene Nuss and Arlette Chowen; grandchildren: Jamie and husband, Jacob Gapczynski, Angela and husband, Chris Kowalski, Zachary and wife, Amanda Taylor, Eric Decker and fiancé, Elizabeth Hamilton, Karisa and husband, Brandon Gay, Ty and wife, Sarah Marquez, Dallas and husband, Keith Shetler, Chelsea and husband, Roger Foster, and Sarah and husband, Robert McElmurry. She was also blessed with eighteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Judy's family will have visitation to celebrate her life from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 at Chagnon Funeral Home in Onaway with a rosary service to begin at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will take place at St. Paul's Catholic Church on Wednesday November 10th, 2021, with viewing at 10:00am and service beginning at 11:00am. Father Patrick Maher will officiate. Judy's final resting place will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Onaway.
