Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Sr. and Mignon, and his son, Virgil R. Wall, III. He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia LaMarr Wall; his loving sister, Mignon Patricia Collins; his children, Tara Wall Collins and husband David R. Collins, Sr., and Patrick Michael Wall and wife Susan Strait Wall; and his grandchildren, Erin Wall Johnson and Alex Menninger Johnson, David R. Collins, Jr. and wife Kelly Keys Collins, Shannon Patricia Wall, and Michael R. Collins; and by his many dear nieces, nephews, and friends. Following service in the U. S. Navy, Virgil earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston. As President of the Houston Jaycees, he hosted the Cuban leader Fidel Castro's visit to the city in 1959. Virgil founded Wall Co., Incorporated, an offset printing business, where he worked until his retirement several years ago. He served as a director of the Alley Theatre for many years, sat on the board of directors of Northside Bank and Lamar River Oaks Bank, was a member of the River Oaks Rotary Club, and served as Commodore of Lakewood Yacht Club in 1993. Pallbearers are Duain Cagle, Robert L. Fuller, William H. Sitter, Jack P. Thomas, Herman Koster, Sam Young, and honorary pallbearers John Broderick and Glenn Robinson.
