Mrs. Bailey was born October 25, 1942 to the late George and Pattie Weaver. Athoma enjoyed reading, especially cookbooks, as she was an avid cook. She also loved gardening and house plants. Athoma enjoyed people, fun and friendly conversations, and had a great sense of humor. She loved her family dearly and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Athoma is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Edward Weaver and George Richard Weaver, Jr.
Athoma is survived by her husband, Francis John "Ben" Bailey; daughter, Alma Lea Daughtridge Wharton; son, Elijah Longstreet Daughtridge, III (Annie); and grandchildren, Lillie Daughtridge, Ellis Daughtridge, and Gus Wharton.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
