April 11, 1989 - November 05, 2021

BRADLEY "BRAD"'S OBITUARY
The world lost a man with a heart of gold and a smile full of sunshine with the death of Bradley Richard May on Nov 5, 2021. He was there for anyone who needed help, encouragement or a hug. Brad was the son of William Richard May and JeannaLynn (Gibson) May. He was born in Vicksburg, MS on April 11, 1989, and moved to Yukon with his family in 1999. Brad graduated from Yukon High School in 2007 and received a bachelor's degree in business from Oklahoma Christian University in 2011.

Brad had a heart for service and gave generously of both his time and talents. He was very active in the Yukon High School Leadership Program and Special Olympics; he continued to support both programs after graduation. He met Sarah Cook while they were both participating in YHS activities. They became good friends while volunteering together, eventually falling in love and marrying on Mar 16, 2013 in Yukon. They bought a home on the outskirts of Oklahoma City, close to Yukon. Brad grew up with a house full of Christmas and embraced Sarah's love for it, too; he affectionately called Sarah his Christmas tree.

Brad had a passion for police work because it was a way to help people. It's the only thing he wanted to do. After he graduated from police training in 2013, he was thrilled to become an OKC police officer. He was awarded Kiwanis' Top Police Officer award in Jan 2016. He completed a number of special police training programs including rescue training so he could help with natural disasters. His last promotion was to sergeant. He enjoyed running in the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Brad traveled all over the state doing honor guard ceremonies because he believed in honoring policemen and women who had died.

Brad always had at least one side job because he liked to keep busy and he loved paying things off early. When he took time for hobbies, they included bird hunting, working out, community service, fishing for catfish, landscaping as well as home remodel projects with Sarah.

Brad was preceded in death by his grandmother Winnie May; grandfather Gene Gibson; cousin Alex Gibson; and a twin brother who was known only by Brad.

Brad cherished his family. He is survived by his wife Sarah Elizabeth (Cook) May of Oklahoma City and their two golden doodles, Bently and Libby; father William Richard May and mother Jeanna Lynn (Gibson) May of Yukon; sister Brittney Lynn (May) Lemons and Brad Stephen Lemons, and their children Ezekiel and Marceline of Andover, KS; grandfather Cecil May Jr. and wife Janice May of Montgomery, AL; and grandmother Madolyn (Gibson) Lewis and husband Eddie Lewis of Olive Branch, MS. Brad was also loved by his many aunts, uncles and cousins—all who lined up for hugs from Brad.

Brad's memorial will be held on Wed, Nov 10, 2021, at 10:30am at South Yukon Church of Christ where he was baptized (2006), trained for service in "Leadership Training for Christ" (K-12th Grade), married to Sarah (2013), and now, memorialized (2021). The family requests you wear blue, if possible, to honor Brad. Memorial gifts may be made to LETR (Law Enforcement Torch Run) or WGHJ Ministries.
