Mr. Richard Howard Lusk, Jr. 64 of Weger Road, Bremen passed away July 6, 2011. Mr. Lusk was born on November 22, 1946 in Jackson County, Alabama the son of the late Richard Howard Lusk, Sr. and Ruth Cornelison Lusk. Richard was a 1965 Graduate of Scottsboro High School in Scottsboro, Alabama. On December 18, 1965 he married his high school classmate, Diane Pittman. He then enrolled in University of Alabama school of Nursing. Upon graduation, he joined The United States Army and was a RN, 1st Lieutenant during the Vietnam Conflict. When he returned from Vietnam, he enrolled in the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where he obtained his Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Degree. In 1972, He, Diane and his son Richie moved to Bremen and he began his career at Higgins General Hospital. Richard also worked at Bowdon Hospital along with other local hospitals. He was a Member of Bremen Masonic Lodge #456 F & AM, 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rite and Member of the Yaarab Temple of Atlanta. He retired from Higgins General Hospital in August of 2008. Since his retirement, his days have been filled with his wife, children, grandchildren and his love of the lake and fishing. He had a love of nature and spending time outdoors. Most of all, he loved his family and making memories with them. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Lusk. Survivors include his wife, Gennette "Diane" Pittman Lusk of Bremen; children, Richard H. (Richie) and Lori Lusk, III of Waco; Andrea (Andie) and Tommy Walter Grace, II of Waco; sisters, Sylvia and Billy Martin of Scottsboro, AL, Deborah Medlock of Ephesus, Carolyn and Billy Jack Shelton of Scottsboro, AL, Patricia and Murphy Bellomy of Scottsboro, AL, half-sister, Elizabeth Broyles of Stevenson, AL; brothers, Paul & Patricia Lusk of Scottsboro, AL, Dwight and Chanda Lusk of Missouri and Gaylon and Deborah Lusk of Scottsboro, AL; sister in law, Brenda Lusk of Scottsboro, AL and three grandchildren, Wesley Grace, Leah Lusk and Julia Lusk all of Waco. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 9, 2011 between the hours of 2 & 4 pm. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday at 4 pm from The Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home in Bremen with Reverend Wayne Monroe officiating and Dr. Richard Seago speaking. Music will be provided by Mrs. Martha Greer and Mr.Randall Redding. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to First United Methodist Church of Bremen Pre-School Program, 321 Hamilton Avenue, Bremen, GA 30110, Haralson County Helpers, P.O.
