Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. Mrs. Vera Lee Green passed away at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi on December 22, 2020.
The 5th daughter of Charlie Johnson, Sr. and Martha Jones born on June 20, 1939 in Belzoni, Mississippi in Humphreys County.
She was a faithful member of New Resident Missionary Baptist Church in Belden, Mississippi where she served as Church Mother, President of the Ladies In Red. One of her most enjoyable things in life was attending church, worshipping with her family and church family.

After graduation from high school, Vera moved to the City of Chicago, Illinois this is where she met and married her husband Charles Green unto this union they were blessed with two sons.

Just to name a few of other things Vera enjoyed doing in life was spending quality time and caring for her family, watching the games shows, soap operas (her favorite was Days of Our Lives) and most definitely working and planting in her garden was a joy.

She leaves behind to cherish her loving memories forever: her two sons, Charles (Tonya) Green, Curtis (Generage) Green all of Tupelo, Mississippi, five siblings, Dewitt (Shirley) Johnson, Charlie (Sandra) Johnson, Cornelious Johnson, Ruthie Lott, Lola Garner, fourteen grandchildren, several great grands and great-great grand children, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three siblings.
