Clara E. Wilson, 102, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, November 7, 2021, at Cumbernauld Village in Winfield.

Born to Cecil and Fannie (Ketterman) Lanier on a farm near Atlanta, Kansas, on September 4, 1919. As a youngster the family moved to Springfield, Colorado for two years, then to Hoisington, Kansas, and later returned to Atlanta. She was educated in Cowley County Schools where she graduated from Upper Timber Creek School.

On December 14, 1937, she married Donald F. Wilson and they resided in Atlanta Community, where she was a homemaker, and a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. To this union four daughters were born. Clara loved to sew for her daughters, as well as gardening, growing flowers, and doing yard work. She loved music and spent time each day doing crossword puzzles. After giving up farming the family moved to Winfield in May of 1960. Mr. Wilson preceded her in death on April 6, 1985.

Clara was a member a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #10 and a former member of Timber Creek Friends Church. After moving to Winfield, she attended Central Baptist Church.

Her family includes her daughters, Audine Nichols and husband, Gerald of Winfield; Linda Wieckhorst of Winfield; Donna Hall and husband, Dale of Winfield; Janice Krepps and husband, Ray of Winfield; and her 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 21 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Clara was preceded in death by a son-in-law Roger Wieckhorst, a great granddaughter Tina Sue Salisbury, a brother Clarence Lanier, and a nephew Glen Lanier.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 12, 2021, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation at the funeral home is scheduled for Thursday evening, November 11, 2021, from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors at that time.

A memorial has been established in Clara's name for the Little Vikes Program at Cumbernauld. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
