Richard R. Freeman, 84, of St. Maries, Idaho, passed away January 29, 2021, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Richard was born May 24, 1936, in Colfax, Wash to Arthur and Alma (Griner) Freeman. The family moved to the St. Maries/Harrison area of Idaho, where Richard grew up and attended school. Following high school, he went to work in the timber industry, making it his lifelong work. Richard went to work for the Potlatch Corporation and retired following a 37-year career, working in various capacities during that time.

Richard married Lenore Lehman and they made Harrison, Idaho, the family home where they raised their two children. He purchased a home building kit and built the family home himself. Richard and Lenore later were divorced. He loved working on cars and was a wonderful mechanic, fixing anything that needed it. Richard also loved the outdoors, especially fishing.

He is survived by his daughter and his son. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Kathryn Cooper.

No public services are planned during this time. Richard will be laid to rest at the Colfax Cemetery in Colfax, Wash. Graveside services will be announced at a later date. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax, Wash., has been entrusted with arrangements.
