Henry Edward Jones, 87, on Friday, November 5, 2021, due to complications from Parkinson's disease. He was born April 13, 1934 in Oklahoma City, and graduated from Davenport, Oklahoma High School in 1953, and served in the US Army and the Oklahoma National Guard following graduation. In 1958 he married Betty Johnson and began his career in law enforcement with the Oklahoma City Police Department. They raised their three daughters in Oklahoma City and Yukon until 1979, when Henry retired from OKC Police as a sergeant to accept the position of Chief of Police in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Henry and Betty moved to Davenport, where he continued his law enforcement career, and lived for 24 years among many good friends and family. Henry and Betty moved to Yukon in 2010 to be near their daughters, and had been residents of Victorian Estates Assisted Living for the past six months. Henry was generous and fun-loving. He loved telling stories and jokes and making people laugh. He enjoyed fellowshipping with friends at Yukon Church and his fellow retired officers at the Oklahoma City FOP Lodge, fishing and watching football and basketball. He was survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty; three daughters and sons-in-law: Danna Clark & Paul, Susan Bailey & Evans, Gay Brucker & Rich; two sisters-in-law; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by immediate family members; father, William Jones; mother, Katie Neal; and sister, Arlean Todd. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 9 November, at Yukon Church 11715 NW 10th, Yukon, Oklahoma. Burial of his ashes and graveside services were to be held at the Davenport Cemetery at a future date.
