Victor R. Wagner, 103, of Hermann, MO, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Stonebridge Hermann.

Victor was born in Mapleton, Minnesota on January 17, 1918. He was the 6th born of 9 children to the late Nicholas & Margaret (Klein) Wagner. Victor settled in Hermann with parents and siblings and built a home on Stonehill Hwy in 1949.

Victor proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart during his service. He was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, and V.F.W. Post 4182. He was a former member of the Hermann Eagles.

Victor and brother Herb were Wagner Brothers Contractors for many homes and businesses in Hermann area. He continued with carpentry shop with partner Gerald Stevens after Herb's death, until he was 100 years old.

Although he was a bachelor his entire life, Victor had many friends and relatives who loved to visit him where he lived on the hill, up until he left this world. He leaves behind his "Happy Hour buddies", especially faithful Ray Watson, Gerald Stevens, and Tommy Worland, his dear friend Edna Littrell, as well as his neighbors "on the hill", and the entire Hermann community. He also leaves behind relatives: nieces & nephews- Norma Wagner Spear and husband Joe Spear of Kansas City, Missouri and children Philip, Elizabeth, and Lauren Spear; Gerry Wagner and wife Susan of Kansas City, Mo and children Chris and Daniel Wagner; Richard Wagner, Mexico, and daughters Araceli and Magda Wagner; Mike Hand and wife Nancy of Kansas City, Mo and children Michaela, Shawn, and J.T. Hand; James Wagner and family and David Wagner and family of Florida; Tiffany Voss and family and Brandi Voss and family of Missouri; Nicholas Wagner and family, Gregory Wagner and family, Philip Wagner and family; Gripka nieces and nephews of Florida, many Klein and Wirtz cousins, many great nieces and nephews

Victor was known as the prankster of the family. He was the last surviving sibling and never married but after his sister Dorothy passed, he considered Ray Watson his best friend and closest companion

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ernest, Louis, Edward, John and Herbert Wagner and sisters, Dorothy Wagner, Laura Hand, and Mary Gripka.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 9th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
