She was born Nov. 17, 1919, in Huntington, to Carey and Effie Simon Bowman. She married Donald E. Chapin in Huntington on June 24, 1939. He died on Dec. 12, 2006.
Survivors include four sons, Jerry Chapin, Donald K. Chapin, Douglas Chapin, and William Chapin, all of Huntington, plus nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Four sisters and eight brothers preceded her in death.
