Sophia Patterson was born August 19, 1830, in Indiana, and was married to James Clark in 1853. To this union were born ten children - Edgar, Ida, George, Charles, Frank, Lena, Lily, Emma, Anna and Harry. Two of the children with her husband have gone before to the great beyond. Her home had been in Ponca, Neb., until March, 1911, when she came to Fayette to live with her daughter, Mrs. Ida Fauser, in whose home she died Thursday, April 20, 1916, from the third stroke of paralysis.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fauser, being conducted by Rev. Daniel M. Parker. One son, Frank Clark of Ponca, Neb., and another daughter, Mrs. Alexander, of Bloomfield, Neb., being present. Internment was made in Grandview Cemetery.
