Augustus was the oldest of seven children born to Caleb A. and Amelia Elmira (Ridenhour) Moose. He married (1) Henrietta Elmira Misenheimer in 1874 and they had ten children: James Victor, Effie Lenora, Nannie May, Bessie McClay, Georgie A., Frankie Elmira, Edward Cook, Donor Agnes, Hattie Della and Richard Gray. After Henrietta's death in 1896 he married (2) Josephine Russell in 1903 and they had one son: Albert Paul.

AUGUSTA P. MOOSE

ALBEMARLE, Dec. 15. - Augustus P. Moose, 84, one of the oldest resident of Stanly county, died at his home here this afternoon after a serious illness of several weeks. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at his home. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery here. Mr. Moose is survived by the following children: Misses Effie and Donar Moose, J. V. Paul and Cook Moose, and Mrs. C. P. Crawley, all of Albemarle; Mrs. M. P. Russell of Jackson Springs, and Mrs. Harry A. Cox of Mayodan.
