Edward Morris Long Sr was my 3rd great grandfather. He was born in either North Carolina or eastern Tennessee. In 1837 he & his wife moved to Rocky Springs Mississippi on the Natchez Trace near Port Gibson where he lived the rest of his life. Dr Long and several family members are buried in the Long Family Cemetery in Claiborne County Mississippi.

NOTE ... date of death on gravemarker is incorrect !!! PROBATE PAPERS verified by Melanie Diane Ward, prove his date of death was 28 Mar 1865. Document states "that said deceased was a citizen and died in said county on or about the 28th day of March 1865, intestate."
