A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Friend, with Fr. Leo Seiker officiating. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lauber Funeral Home, Friend. Visitation is 2:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends and relatives before and after the rosary. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery with food and fellowship following the interment back at the parish hall of the church. Memorials have been established to the church. Pallbearers are: Jesse Borjon, Jason Sutton, Nicholas Sutton, Brad Bleick, Mark Bleick and Matt Bleick.

Connie K. Sutton was born October 10, 1934, in Seward, Nebraska to John R. Sr. and Vivian G. (Gambler) Simpson, and passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Jefferson County Health and Life Gardenside Long-term Facility in Fairbury at the age of 87.

She attended Friend Public School, graduating with the class of 1955. On September 24, 1955, she was united in marriage to James A. Sutton and to this union two sons, David and Donald and two daughters, Barbara and Pamela were born. Together they lived in Friend where Connie was the school secretary for the Friend Public School. Connie was an active member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the altar society of the church.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Jackie Sutton, Rockledge, FL, Don and Deb Sutton, Fairbury, daughter, son-in-law, Barb and Rod Bleich, Topeka, KS, grandchildren, spouses, Jason and Tatiana Sutton, Orlando, FL, Jesse and Stacey Borjon, Topeka, Nick and Sarah Sutton, Omaha, Amanda and Joel Kemmerer, Jewel, KS, Melissa and Luke Bennett, Fairbury, Brad and Callie Bleich, Kansas City, MO, Mark and Kayla Bleich, and Matt Bleich, all of Kansas City, MO, 14 great-grandchildren, a brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Sue Sampson, Sun City, CA, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jim in 2000, and a daughter, Pam.
