He was a member of Mount Vernon Methodist Church. He attended George Washington High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He drove for the Trailways Bus Company before joining the Danville Fire Department. He retired from the fire department. Henry was a member of the Danville Life Saving Crew.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bett Arnett Adams; three sons, Henry V. Adams III, Lincoln Samuel Adams (Wennifer) and Calvin Lea Adams (Donna); a brother, Drewry Lea Adams; brother-in-law, James Arnett.
Burial will be at Mt. View Cemetery
