He was born March 21, 1940, in Dawson Springs, Caldwell County, Kentucky to the late George Vernice Alexander and Beulah Mae Adams Alexander.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Lilly Joy (McIntyre) Herzog Alexander whom he married October 18, 1996; also, surviving, one son, Paul W. Alexander of Farmersburg; three stepdaughters, Kelly (Dustin) Wingate of Crawfordsville, Trina J. Herzog of Indianapolis and Lisa Herzog of Terre Haute; one stepson, Darin (Sabrina) Herzog of Bloomington; 6 grandchildren, Kaesyn (Payton) Green, Brycin Herzog, Kierstyn Herzog, Brooklyn Herzog, Klaytin Wingate and Daltin Wingate.
He gave his heart and life to God at the age of 13. He received his call to the ministry at the age of 15. He began his studies in the ministry at the age of 18. In his 55 years in the ministry, he has pastored three churches in Indiana, Louisiana, and Arkansas. While pastoring one church he was a chaplain for the Volunteer Fire Department in that city. He authored a book, "The family, the oldest institution". Since retirement he has filled in for pastors and one of the chaplains at a local hospital. He was active with a mission trip each year until 2014. He was a life member of Road King Professional Drivers Club.
Services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, November 11, at Faithbridge Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Tom Branham officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation is from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Faithbridge Assembly of God Church.
