Kevin Gary Aiello passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, at home following a prolonged illness. Kevin was born Oct. 12, 1955, at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, to Richard and Mildred Aiello. Born into the U.S. Air Force, he spent the first 18 years of his life living as an Air Force brat and traveling across the United States and its territories. Ultimately, he decided against following in his father's footsteps and instead enlisted in the United States Navy. Kevin served for over a decade, achieving the rank of Torpedoman's Mate 1st Class and traveling all over the world before being honorably discharged. During part of his service, he was stationed at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan, and discovered a lifelong love for Japan and its people. Following the Navy, Kevin worked for the United States Postal Service for many decades until shortly before his illness. One thing Kevin never stopped being and that was a diehard, devoted patriot. He was inspired constantly by love and concern for this country. He was also a man of many hobbies - and short attention span - including fishing, prepping, remote control airplanes, motorcycles, daredevil stunts well into his 50s, drinking wine from a coffee mug at family events, building "deathrays'' and other contraptions, gun and crossbow sports and, of course, the ladies. Call him whatever you wish (although, he would probably prefer to be called "the baddest s.o.b. here"), but you certainly can't call him boring! Kevin wasn't the type to let people in and really open himself up, but he was certainly never shy with an opinion. If you got to spend any time at all with him, I bet you have a funny story from it. He may no longer be with us, but he left us with a treasure trove of hilarious "Only Kevin would do that" and "Kevin did what?!" memories for us to remember him by. Thanks for all the laughs, Kev.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mildred Aiello.

Survivors: Siblings, Richard Aiello, Jr., and wife, Cheryl, Karen Roberson and husband, Ron, and Scott Aiello; aunts and uncle, Butch and Rose Wilkinson, Sandra Gray and Mary Wilkinson; numerous cousins; nieces and nephews, Lee Aiello and wife, Jessica, April Roberson and husband, Kenny Riddile, Amber Roberson, Richard Aiello III, Collin Smith and Ryan Aiello, Damion Aiello and Zoey Aiello; and many other family and friends.

We will be honoring Kevin's life and paying our respects to him in a service open to the public (family, friends, co-workers, etc.)at Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth, TX on 9/2/21 at 2:30 p.m. There is no capacity limitation currently in place. It was Kevin's wish to be cremated and ultimately transported to the National Cemetery in Dallas later although as noted, his service will be at Greenwood Funeral Home.
