He received his early education in Washington D.C. and graduated from Spingarn High School. He joined the U.S. Navy after High School, and shortly after, joined in holy matrimony to wife Sharron Johnson Wilson of Turbeville, S.C. To this union two children were born, his son, Samuel B. Wilson III, and daughter, Robin M. Wilson.
Samuel had a long distinguished career with Giant Food Inc. working with the data processing department for over 26 years. Samuel was baptized at Suitland Road Baptist church by the Reverend Dr. Kelvin McCune. He then served as a Trustee. He also served on the maintenance committee. Samuel, until his departure, walked faithfully with the Lord.
Samuel, affectionately known as "Plum" by family and some friends, often enjoyed sharing his love for tools, model cars, western movies and cartoons with those closest to him. He always made himself available to lend a helping hand, and made you laugh while he did it. He left behind his loved ones, Sharron Wilson, wife of 48 years, Sammy his son, Robin his daughter, Jonathan his son-in-law, and Moriah his granddaughter.
A word of thanks to God for our Pastor for being there with us, and to our church
family. The thoughts, the prayers, and the giving of themselves are greatly appreciated.
