Elson - John F. "Poppy" Adcock, 81, died at home the afternoon of Nov. 9 in Eldon.
He was born Feb. 15, 1899, at Chillicothe, to John and Louisa Pearson Adcock. He lived most of his life in Ottumwa. He moved to Eldon in 1976. He married Ethel Simmer Aug. 27, 1927. She died in 1977.
Survivors: a daughter, Shirley Slycord of Alpha, Ill.; a grandson and two great-granddaughters; and a sister, Doris Sly of Floris.
Graveside services: today at 4 p.m. in Agency Cemetery, the Rev. Earl Menning officiating.
Arrangements: Campbell Funeral Home, Eldon.
