Elizabeth M. "Betty" Evans, 88, formerly of Bellwood, died Friday afternoon, November 5, 2021 at Epworth Manor, Tyrone. She was born August 7, 1933 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Russell N. and Dorothy M. (Shultz) Whetstine. On Jan. 22, 1951, she married Jacob Carl "Jack" Evans in Altoona, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 2010.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest E.; and a sister, Janet L. Cherry.

In 1993, Betty retired as a solderer at PPG Industries, Tipton. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Bellwood and a former member of Excelsior Fire Co. No. 1 Bellwood. Betty enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, crocheting, reading, traveling, and spending time at their hunting camp in Sinnemahoning.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8pm, Tues., Nov. 9, 2021 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 8pm Tuesday at the funeral home, Pastor Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood
