Carla Ann (Sims, Kirby) Davis passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in December.
Carla was born September 28, 1936 in Henrietta, Texas to Carl Elgin and Bebe Carmen (Firestone, Sims) Maddox. Carla was a graduate of Henrietta High School and a member of the United Methodist Church of Henrietta, where she was the volunteer, Nursery Sunday School Teacher for many years. Carla was a Campfire Councilor and Summer Day Camp Instructor for several Blue Birds and Campfire Girls Groups in Henrietta. She organized several winning Summer Parks & Recreation Track Teams from Henrietta that won Wichita Falls, Area, Regional and Summer State Track Meets in Austin, Texas during the 70s. Carla worked as a Teacher's Aide for many years at the Midway ISD; Holland, Bonham, Fannin and Cunningham Elementarys for the Wichita Falls ISD, and as a substitute teacher for Henrietta and Petrolia ISDs. Granny Carla was a solid fan who attended hundreds of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren's football, basketball, volleyball games and track meets.
Along with her parents Carl and Bebe Sims, Carla was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Davis.
She is survived by her children Carole Mayo, Kent Kir by and wife Synthia, Claudette Saorski and husband Hartmut and Kimberly Kincaid; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Joshua Matlock and wife Wendy, Steven and Allison; Jessica Mayo-Henderson and husband Jerrod, Maddox, Roman and Jude; Christopher Kirby and wife Candee and Ryann; Blake Kirby and wife Jysica and Kylie, Mason and Maddelyn; Connor and Carson; Bradley Wolf and wife Dena and Riley; Gretchen Wolf; Keith Wolf and wife Katie and Greyson; Jay Kincaid and Emily Kincaid and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was a loving mother and Granny who will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in honor of Carla to Hospice of Wichita Falls, Johnson Rd., Wichita Falls or to St Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or to your favorite charity.
