Son of Emmett and Lenna Cox. He grew up in Smyrna and graduated from Campbell High School in 1959. He completed basic training at Fort Jackson, SC. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1992 after a career as a mail carrier. He married Beverly on June 30, 1961. They were longtime members of Smyrna First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sandra Biddy of Cartersville. He is survived by his two sons, Glen and his wife, Wendy, and Rick and his wife, Joi; and grandsons, Timothy, Nicholas, Tyler and Jonathan.
