MULLINS - Mrs. Annie Margaret Smith Morris, 86, widow of Lanier Junior Morris, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members at the Mullins Nursing Center after an extended illness, November 4, 2021.
Ms. Annie Margaret was born in Marion County, South Carolina on August 12, 1935, a daughter to the late Paul Smith and the late Lizzie Mae Gasque Smith. She spent time as a farmer and was a fulltime homemaker for her family and was a fulltime salesclerk with B.C. Moore's Department Store in Mullins. She enjoyed doing word find puzzles and thoroughly enjoyed Bingo. Mrs. Morris was a member of Gapway Baptist Church.
Surviving Ms. Annie Margaret is a daughter, Lynn Bessetti of Mullins; a son, Mitchell Owens (Terry) of Florence; five sisters, Pauline Brown of Mullins, Bessie Graham of Ridgeville, Mary "Skeeter" Lewis of Nichols, Betty Martin (Hollis) of Mullins and Susan "Susie" Martin (Skip) of Ridgeville; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Annie Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Lanier Junior Morris, two sons, Joe Owens and Danny Owens, Jr., and a brother, Tommy Smith.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, November 7, at 3:00 p.m. at the Mausoleum Chapel at Red Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Stephen D. Bailey officiating. Entombment will follow after the services.
