John "Jack" Cyril McGuire, 63, of Morris Twp., NJ passed away on November 1st, 2021 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. Jack was born on October 14, 1958, in Denville, NJ to the late George P. and Olivia McGuire. He grew up in Chester, and later settled in Morris Twp., where he raised his family. He graduated from Saint Louis High School in Honolulu and received a bachelor's degree from Drew University in Madison, NJ, before earning his Law degree in 1987 from Seton Hall University School of Law. Jack was a successful lawyer and a tenacious litigator. He was well respected amongst his peers and received the recognition of Super Lawyer several times, an award voted on by his contemporaries and given out to only a select number of lawyers. When he wasn't working, Jack enjoyed soaking up the sun and being at the beach or on the water. He had a passion for sailing and surfing. He was an avid boxer and boxed into his early 50's. The same tenacity that he brought into the courtroom was the tenacity with which he protected his family, friends, and colleagues. Jack was always first to lend a helping hand and assist those in need.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Anne (O'Haver) McGuire; two loving daughters, Maggie McGuire and Katie McGuire; three devoted brothers, George P. McGuire, Jr. and wife Diane, Patrick J. McGuire, and Noel T. McGuire and wife Sharon; nieces, Tara and Meghan; nephew, Colin; and by many other loving family members and friends.

Jack's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Monday November 8th, 2021 from 10am – 12:30pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Rd. (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Mass will follow, beginning at 1pm at St. Lawrence RC Church in Chester. Interment will be held privately.
