Delores Funkhouser, 84, of Energy, passed away November 4, 2021 at her house in Energy.
Delores worked at Todd Uniform Company in Marion.
Delores was a member of the All Nations Church in Johnston City and formerly attended the Park Avenue Church of God in Herrin.
Delores was born August 30, 1937 in Johnston City, Illinois to Sherman, Sr. and Gertie (Pickers) Johnson.
Delores married John Wesley Funkhouser, Sr. on January 5, 1957 in Melrose Park, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2007.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law John, Jr. & Tammy Funkhouser of Searcy, AR; 5 grandchildren, Stephen & Paige Funkhouser of Fayetteville, AR, Brandon Funkhouser of Oakford, IL, Sharon & Toby Davis of Smyrna, DE, Erica Pruitt of Searcy, AR and Austin & Lydia Pruitt of Garner, AR; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews including Sharon VanByssum and her husband Tim whom cared for Delores for the last 12 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters, Sharon Kay Funkhouser and Ruth Ann Scobey; son, Matthew Funkhouser; 3 sister, Linda Lou Smith, Brenda Kay Johnson, and Carolyn Gleghorn; and brother Sherman Johnson, Jr.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 8, 2021 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Bruce Fox officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. Memorial donations in Delores' memory may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, 204 Halfway Road, Marion, IL 62959; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
