Daniel Martin Todd, 72, of Quinlan, TX passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on October 31, 2021.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:30 PM, Thursday, November 18, 2021, at DFW National Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point, TX.

Dan was born to Joe and Pat Todd, raised in South Carolina alongside his adored siblings Dianne and Stan Todd. He married the love of his life, Martha Aday, and they raised Michael Chase Todd, Corey Lynn Grove and Stanford Taylor Todd in Arlington, TX. Dan was known as "Poppy" to Hunter, his first-born grandson, followed by Landon, Alice, Luke, Adalynn and Levi and their great-granddaughter Iris. Dan proudly served in the US Navy from 1967-71. Dan began his career with Vought Aircraft, retiring from the company after 33 years. During that time, he received his Bachelor's from UTA and went on to receive his MBA from DBU. He fulfilled his dream of retiring from the big 3, adding Lockheed Martin and Bell Helicopter to his resume before fully retiring. He took great pride in his favorite project: the C-17 aircraft. Dan had a deep work ethic and genuinely loved aerospace.

Dan loved his church communities; serving Russell Memorial UMC and Men of Honor in Wills Point as well as a cornerstone member of Community of Hope UMC in Mansfield. In his free time, he enjoyed watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He loved traveling the world with his family and friends, Costa Rica being his favorite! Dan spent many hours on golf courses, known by those on the course as Frog Man. He traveled many places to discover new courses, with his favorite being the Robert Trent Jones Trail that he had the joy of taking his sons to for his 70th birthday. After retirement Dan and Martha moved for a new adventure to Lake Tawakoni and began lake living, accompanied by his boats "Irish Cream" and "Jet". Dan had a great sense of humor, he truly loved the art of laughter, he never turned down a moment to tell a great story and he was a poet at heart. Dan was always up for a card game, loved to sing and whistle to his favorite tunes, and he always had multiple projects going on as he tinkered away, staying busy loving their new country life. But most of all, Dan deeply loved his family. Dan and Martha had a true love story, they cherished each other, they lived a full life of work hard play hard and they were each other's safe place. He was the pillar of strength and the family's rock, a great provider and man of integrity. He will forever be our hero.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Patricia Todd; sister, Dianne Haley.

Dan is survived by his wife, Martha Aday Todd of Quinlan, TX; sons, Michael Chase Todd of Arlington, TX, and Stanford Taylor Todd of Fraser, CO; daughter, Corey Grove and husband, Joshua of Arlington, TX; brother, Stan Todd of Greenwood, SC; sister, Mendi Todd of Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren, Hunter Todd and wife, Tamar, Landon Grove, Alice Grove, Luke Grove, Adalynn Grove and Levi Grove; great grandchild, Iris Todd.
