Timothy J. Burns, 61, of Burlington, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at his home.

Born in Marquette, Michigan on May 2, 1960, he was the son of Leonard and Kae (nee Belonga) Burns. His early life was spent in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin. His home church was Grace Lutheran Church. He was a high school athlete, playing basketball and baseball, playing on the state championship team. On November 27, 1982 in Rock Island, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Catherine Marshall. Following marriage, they continued to make Rock Island their home where he received his associate degree in business. In 1988 his family returned to Oconto Falls where he worked in retail sales and enjoyed golfing, hunting and cheering on the Packers and Badgers. In 2019 they moved to Burlington where he was involved at Frances Meadows and a member of Cross Lutheran Church. Family was his world, and he was a great father and an amazing Papa.

Timothy is survived by his wife; children, Rev. Elizabeth (Joshua) Lee, Amanda (Jess) McGillivray and Jessica (Bradley) Suprise; grandchildren, Alexander, Samuel, Nicolas and Mackenzie; father; siblings, Paul (Janet) Burns and Kim Kujawski; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother.

The family would like to thank Aurora Hospice along with his niece, Stephanie Krueger, for being with the family until the end.

A tree planting and celebration of life will he held this spring.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society in Tim's honor.
