AVON – Mrs. Alice Duncan Sandidge, 89, who formerly resided in Madison Heights, died at her home in Avon yesterday at 2:45 p.m. after an illness of two months. She was the widow of Henley V. Sandidge.
Born in Nelson County on Feb. 28, 1864, she was the daughter of the late James B. Duncan and Martha Rittenhouse Duncan. She was a member of Adial Baptist Church.
She is survived by one step-daughter, Mrs. L. A. Cash of Madison Heights; two step-sons, Norman Sandidge of Madison Heights and Fred Sandidge of Richmond; one brother, R. L. Duncan of Greenfield; two sisters, Mrs. Etna Splaun of Greenfield and Mrs. Lula Felton of Faber; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Adial Baptist Church tomorrow at 2 p.m., and burial will be in the church cemetery. The body now rests at the Sheffield Funeral Home in Lovingston.
